About the class
Crime Scene Investigation
Each week brings... A new crime. A new set of suspects. A new case to crack!
Put your detective skills to the test!
Each week, learners open a completely new fictional case file. From mysterious murders and impossible disappearances to daring thefts and sabotage, they'll examine the crime scene, meet the suspects, uncover evidence, check alibis and piece together the timeline before deciding what really happened.
But identifying a suspect isn't enough — can you prove your theory using the evidence?
Cases are designed to get learners thinking, questioning and changing their theories as new evidence is revealed. Along the way, they'll naturally develop observation, logical reasoning, critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
There's no role play and no need to know anyone else in the group. Everyone can investigate independently while sharing theories, voting on suspects and joining the wider investigation as much as they feel comfortable.
Learners will develop the ability to:
Observe carefully and identify important details within a crime scene
Analyse evidence and decide which information is relevant
Compare suspect statements and alibis
Build and check timelines to understand the sequence of events
Use logical reasoning to connect clues and eliminate possibilities
Form evidence-based theories rather than relying on guesses
Question assumptions and reconsider conclusions when new evidence appears
Spot inconsistencies and contradictions in information
Develop critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
Explain and justify conclusions using evidence from the case
Listen to alternative theories and evaluate different viewpoints
Make independent decisions while contributing to a wider group investigation

🐝 A little note about our first block 🐝
As we’re launching later than planned, this first block is a shorter 3-week block. You’ll only pay for these three lessons, and our usual 6-week blocks will follow. We can’t wait to welcome you!

What you'll learn this block
Week 1
The Stolen Painting
A valuable painting has vanished during an evening event at an art gallery. Examine the scene, investigate three suspects and work out who took it — and how.
Week 4
The Museum Diamond Theft
A rare diamond disappears from a supposedly secure display case during a busy museum event. Several people had the opportunity — but one tiny detail changes everything.
Week 2
Murder at Blackwood Manor
A wealthy collector is found dead in his study during a dinner at Blackwood Manor. The doors were locked, everyone claims to have an alibi... and somebody isn't telling the truth.
Week 5
The Last Train Murder
A passenger is discovered dead after a late-night train journey. Three passengers were nearby, their stories don't quite match and the train's timetable could hold the key to the case.
Week 3
The Missing Racehorse
A valuable racehorse disappears from a secure stable just before an important race. Was it an escape, a theft or something more carefully planned?
Week 6
The Airport Case
A valuable package arrives at a private airport terminal... and then disappears. Access records, messages and a crucial timeline discrepancy stand between investigators and the truth.
Observe carefully. Question everything. Follow the evidence. Crack the case.
