KS2+ Maths Fluency

Take mathematical thinking to the next level with our KS2+ Maths Group!

Perfect for learners who are confident with the basics and ready for greater challenge, these engaging small-group lessons focus on reasoning, problem solving and applying maths in a wide range of real-life situations.

From algebra and geometry to statistics, coordinates and investigations, learners will deepen their understanding of key KS2 concepts while building the confidence and resilience needed for the transition into KS3 mathematics.

Every lesson encourages learners to think critically, explain their reasoning, tackle unfamiliar problems and discover that maths is about much more than finding the right answer.

There are 6 blocks per year (term time) with 6 lessons in each block.

1 Year

BLOCK 1 – Algebra & Sequences
Sequences, missing-number problems, symbols and letters, simple formulae, equations and combinations of variables.

BLOCK 2 – Measurement
Length, mass, capacity and time, unit conversion, perimeter, area and volume, imperial and metric measures.

Angles, triangles and quadrilaterals, polygons, circles, 3D shapes, symmetry, properties and classification.

____________________________________________________________________BLOCK 4 – Geometry: Position & Direction
Coordinates in four quadrants, translation, reflection, plotting and describing position.

____________________________________________________________________BLOCK 5 – Statistics
Tables, timetables, bar charts, line graphs and pie charts, averages, interpreting, comparing and presenting data.

Money, measures, data, scale, multi-step applications and investigations drawing together the full KS2 curriculum.
