About the class
Love ponies? Come and join Pony Club Academy!
Designed for young horse and pony enthusiasts, this fun online club explores the knowledge and skills that go into caring for, understanding and enjoying life with horses and ponies.
Across six interactive small-group lessons, learners will discover how to recognise different breeds and colours of ponies, understand their behaviour, care for them properly, choose and use everyday equipment, plan a pony's daily routine and tackle realistic equestrian challenges.
You don't need to own a pony or ride regularly to join in. Pony Club Academy is about building real equestrian knowledge through pictures, demonstrations, quizzes, challenges, discussion and problem-solving.
Perfect for pony-mad learners who want to know much more than just how to ride!

🐝 A little note about our first block 🐝
As we’re launching later than planned, this first block is a shorter 3-week block. You’ll only pay for these three lessons, and our usual 6-week blocks will follow. We can’t wait to welcome you!

What you'll learn this block
Week 1
Meet the Ponies!
Discover different breeds and types of horses and ponies, learn common colours and markings, explore basic equine anatomy and practise using correct horsey terminology.
Week 4
Tack Room Challenge
Investigate common pieces of tack and equipment, including the basic parts of a saddle and bridle. Match equipment to its purpose and explore why correct fit, care and safe use matter.
Week 2
What Is Your Pony Saying?
Learn how horses communicate through their ears, eyes, face, tail and body position. Explore signs of relaxation, interest, fear and irritation, and learn why understanding behaviour is an important part of staying safe around horses.
Week 5
Feed the Pony!
Discover the basics of what horses and ponies need to eat and drink, including forage, grass and fresh water. Compare the needs of different ponies and tackle a Build a Pony Menu challenge.
Week 3
Groom Like a Pro
Explore the grooming kit and discover what different brushes and tools are used for. Learn a sensible grooming routine, why grooming matters and some of the everyday checks owners make while caring for their pony.
Week 6
Run Your Own Pony Yard!
Put everything together in a final Pony Academy challenge. Plan a pony's day, make decisions about feeding, grooming, turnout, stable care and equipment, spot potential problems and demonstrate everything learned throughout the block.

Riding Superstars
Positions, mounting, dismounting, walk/trot/canter, aids and communication, arena letters, exercises, balance, transitions, etiquette + safety.
Healthy Horse Experts
Signs of health, checks, hooves , teeth, parasites, vaccinations, illnessess, injuries, preventative care and vets.

Stable & Yard Managers
Stable design + management, bedding, mucking out, turnout, fencing, field care, poisonous plants, seasonal management, routines, equipment +safety.
Horse Sports & Adventures
Jumping, dressage, eventing, showing, mounted games, endurance... competition basics, preparation, sportsmanship and equestrian careers.
Pony Expert Challenge
Breeds, conformation, behaviour, choosing a suitable pony, assessing care scenarios, planning costs and routines, welfare decision-making and applying knowledge.

Hi, I’m Katie! I’m a Pony Club Show Jumping Judge and Assessor, and a freelance equestrian coach.
I’m excited to welcome you to Pony Club Academy and Equestrian Studies, live from my family’s riding stables in Warlingham! With real horses and ponies helping us learn, we’ll explore pony care, riding knowledge and everyday life on the yard. I can’t wait to meet all our young horse enthusiasts! Oh, and I’m a BHS Stage 4 Senior Eventing Coach and Ride Safe Trainer too! 🐴

Unless you choose to cancel (which you can do at any time), your live place in this group will auto-renew two weeks before the end of the block, on a rolling basis.
2. Live lesson places are limited to 10 learners per lesson to ensure the best learning experience. If a place becomes available, it will be bookable here on a first come first served basis.
3. Live lessons require cameras to be turned on for the best learning experience.
4. Recorded Classes are available to everyone and do not include live learning.
