Service Description

WEDNESDAYS (Term Time Only) Drop-Off: 10:30am Pick-Up: 3:30pm Does your child enjoy outdoor learning in a welcoming, fun and friendly group environment? At Wednesday Wanderers, the children have lots of time to enjoy free play and ample opportunity to dive into the depths of world discovery... From Cave Man to Colossal Constructions, Forest Maths to Foraging Snacks, Crafts and Art, to learning how to make a safe fire start... Science and History and some things quite grisly. Kings and Queens, Tales of things long unseen... Poems and songs, beautiful Words now long gone... Wars and Kingdoms, Deserts and Forests... the list is only limited by interests and imagination. We explore an exciting array of intriguing topics with a ‘real-world’ phenomenon-based learning approach, whereby the children find the answers to their questions, with ample opportunity to nurture their core skills in literacy and numeracy; crossing all subjects along the way... STEM, arts, languages, humanities, business, life-skills, history, numeracy, literacy, critical thinking, debating skills etc etc. (...all whilst earning an official Ocean Paw Badge!) * Due to insurance purposes, we have to stipulate that this session is drop-off. All adults on site must hold a current DBS certificate. However we completely understand that every child is unique and if you do need to stay, you are most welcome to become a parent helper within the session which will provide you with the required CRB. Sadly, we cannot allow siblings who are not part of the group to come along. If you have any questions, please do get in touch. PLEASE NOTE: The cost is £40 per week / £240 for this 6wk block. However, as we are a non-profit we must add transaction fees onto your payment to cover costs. These sadly equate to an additional £18.00, bringing the total to £258.00. To avoid all extra fees, you can make your contribution (£240) directly via **friends and family** on PayPal to homeedhive@gmail.com - with your Childs name / group as a reference.

The Home-Ed Hive is a non-profit project. We are unable to refund or discount your tutor contribution should your child be unable to attend. This is because each of our children within the group contribute towards the cost of the venue, tutor and organisational overheads such as insurance. Any missed or discounted payments would make the group financially unviable.
